A Word About Cork

A Word About Cork
"Whoa... what are you all doing with this cork stuff?" you may ask!
It's always been our MO to experiment, create, and better ourselves and products, since day one. Many of you who have been customers for the last 25 years have seen many transitions. Thanks for your patience for the ones that didn't work as well! ☺️

We started playing around with insoles about eight years ago.  We shelved it for a while, while we improved it. What we developed now is just what we wanted. Using reground cork and rubber, we were able to make a cork insole that was lightweight, high-arch, with a deep-heel cup, and flexible. The last word, "flexible," was the most important; what I personally didn't adore about the usual suspects of cork sandals, was the stiffness. Here at Nomadic, we've always stressed the need for the foot to have movement. This cork/rubber insole does just that: it moves with you, not like an attachment on your foot.

This is not meant to take the place of our original rope shoes, just meant to expand and secure our company in an ever changing world.  These sandals are for people who might not want to wear the rope ones, or appreciate cork.  it's been a fun project!  Alot of time and energy goes into these woven ones.  Carry on! Much love.

Pictured above are the heel-cup and arch support of our cork insole. This perspective shows the deep-heel socket and the high arch. The top sheet cork is just a top sheet on the reground cork, which you can see on the side.
Pictured above are our NEW Woven Cork Moses sandals in Olive. These are the teams favorite; we can't recommend them enough.
