Learning how to clean and care for your sandals is incredibly important to ensure they remain a staple in your wardrobe. Here are some of our top tips when it comes to Nomadic State of Mind sandal care:

The best way to clean your rope sandals would be to use a pressure/power washer (like one you clean your deck with).

Chris recommends taking your sandals to the car wash, pressure washing them on both sides, and then tying them to the roof of your car to dry on the way home.

But that's pretty silly for most folks, which is why we include a sandal bag in each sandal order placed directly through us.

Sandals can be washed and dried along with your regular laundry. Shea, our customer service legend, washes them with her loads of towels. Simply place them inside the included bag and wash with your laundry on cold.
As for drying, we recommend letting the sun do the work. Not only is this the more eco-friendly way, but it is also the best for the type of rope we use.

What if they get really nasty?

Sh*t happens (literally, especially if you have dogs). You may find soaking your soiled sandals in bleach or tea tree oil and warm water, then allowing to dry in the sun, can do the trick.

Normal Wear & Tear

Remember, you are walking on rope, specifically handmade rope. If/when your sandals begin to fray (typically near the back/heel), gently trim the fraying pieces with scissors.
