What is EVA?
Eva is a lightweight, durable, foam-like material used for top-of-the-line cushion and comfort while also providing shock absorption. This material is commonly used in athletic shoes, making our new EVA sandals perfect for long adventures that require extra traction and support.
We added EVA to some of our cork models for added support, or to get you a little higher (about 1 inch, for sure). This changes the cork sandals to something a little stiffer, some might say more stable.
Our original cork sandals without the EVA midsole is super flexible and walks with the foot. With the EVA, the sandal is more stiff, but also adds a little more absorption. I'd recommend this one as a comfort walking sandal, similar to a lot of the stiffer cork footbeds out there in the world....
EVA was first used in the 70's in running shoes, it has changed over the years as we figure out how to make it not blow out, and absorb shock. The one we are using does that pretty well; absorbs shock and doesn't blow out! Check these out!
